Intercultural Competence [in English]
In a globalized world, in a globally active university with students and staff from all over the world, a team composed of different cultures and nationalities, knowledge of other cultures is essential. Different values, norms, and work attitudes can trigger tensions within the team. It is important to develop "intercultural empathy" in each MLU member, an understanding of different linguistic exchanges and the understanding of nonverbal cues. This is how multiculturalism can be experienced, in which the coexistence and cooperation of different cultures can develop a lively, creative, and goal-oriented group dynamic.
