The “European and International Economy” (120 LP) master program is an economics and social science-oriented course that makes the European economy and regional development a central theme. The program is sponsored by the Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg and the Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore in Milan. Both universities are firmly rooted in their respective regions and are important research centers with a focus on economics, law and social sciences. Their collaboration regarding this study program stands for modern, non-denominational and interdisciplinary research and teaching on current issues in economics and politics in Europe and in the European and international scope.
As already mentioned, this is a trilingual double-degree master program with courses in Italian, German and English. The regular duration of the study program is of four semesters. You will spend the first year in Halle, concentrating on economic events in German and English, as well as language classes. In the second year you will study in Italian at the Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore in Milan, which is located in the center of Milan, just 15 minutes away by foot from the Duomo di Milano. The study visit to Milan can be financially supported through Erasmus.
During your studies, you will have modules in the areas of Economics, Law, History, Political Science, Sociology, and of course foreign languages. You also need to complete an internship of three weeks minimum and write a master thesis at the end of your studies. Graduates will receive the Master of Science degree from Germany and Laurea Magistrale from Italy.
