Löwenportal

Löwenportal accompanies students throughout their entire degree studies. Download and print different study certificates, registering for modules, viewing grade transcripts or re-registration for upcoming semester: the portal offers a number of online self-service functions.

Important: The first two TANs shall be used to generate a TAN block, which is required for the initial registration.

Löwen App

Developed by ITZ (inhouse data centre), Löwen app brings many Löwenportal functions to smartphones. It is like „having your studies in your pocket“ and can also do a lot of other smart things - just like:

Managing your studies

Managing your studies

Voilà, the core feature of our Löwen app: your studies, tailored to you.

Here's what you can view: Timetable | Grade overview | Modules | Exam dates | Events | performance overview in your degree programme(s)

Generating TAN blocks

Generating TAN blocks

Is your TAN list almost consumed? Do you need a new one? Or: Did you use the first two TANs of your student career for fun things, but NOT for creating a TAN block – despite all the warnings? :-)

Then there are several ways to go about it. One is to visit Infothek in Löwengebäude, another is to send an email to the student registration office. A much better option is to do it yourself with Löwen app (because then you don't have to admit that you overlooked something important...).

Generating new TAN blocks could only be done once a week. For identification purposes, you shall enter the serial number of your student ID card. Alternatively, you may hold your student ID up to your smartphone, which will it using NFC (= Near Field Communication).

Checking canteen menus

Checking canteen menus

An interface with Studentenwerk (student services organisation) allows users to view the catering options and opening hours directly. Studentenwerk operates the local canteens and cafeterias.

Library: browsing catalogues, checking account, renewing media loans

Library: browsing catalogues, checking account, renewing media loans

You may check your own user account with library ULB. The loan period for borrowed media displayed there could be extended in the app. Of course, you may also browse the catalogue. You will automatically receive an email reminder at the end of the loan period to your student email address.

To spy locations

To spy locations

All kinds of location maps are also displayed in the app. A few examples:

  • Where are university printers located?
  • Where may student IDs (USC) be validated?
  • Where may student IDs (USC) be topped up with credit (top-up machines)?
  • Where are customer terminals of the local public transport operator HAVAG (for checking the electronically stored semester ticket)?

Display USC credit balance

Display USC credit balance

If you use Löwen app on you smartphone with NFC (Near Field Communication) functionality, you may check the balance on your student ID card (USC). Simply launch the app, select function, hold your student ID card up to the device and see the balance. Running low on digital cash? The app also shows you where top-up stations are located, of course...
