Welcome, freshers‘!

The first few weeks will be exciting, of course. There are bound to be countless questions buzzing around in your head. Don't worry: many questions will be answered at the subject-specific introductory events organised by the faculties/institutes or at the central orientation.

Central orientation with Imma welcoming (8/9 October)

During two packed freshers‘ days on 8 and 9 October (Wednesday and Thursday) - designed and made for all new students at the University of Halle - we present important student content in the lecture halls on „Uniplatz“. With the central Universitätsplatz around, you will find one of Germany’s most attractive campus areas. Including student life with all its diversity.

The solemn welcoming with the Ersti-Talk, i.e. the core of the student welcoming event, is integrated into this programme on Thursday.

Welcoming our international freshers in particular, we will dedicate one lecture theatre as English-only venue.

PROGRAMME

Institutes‘ events

By means of subject-specific introductory events, faculties and institutes will inform about very relevant content in your specific programme as well as their structures with teaching and research focus. Lecturers, staff and student representatives of the student council introduce themselves, often in a relaxed atmosphere. Future fellow students can get to know each other.

Here is the complete offer - sorted by (sub)degree programme:

Most of the subject-specific events take place in early October, i.e. around Central Orientation, and in the first week of lectures (from 13 October). Some programmes, especially courses in the natural sciences, start even earlier or have registration deadlines.
